Trade Ideas Limited, a participant-owned platform which enables brokers and institutional clients to send and receive trade ideas on a permission basis, said today that Morgan Stanley and Barclays Capital have become strategic shareholders.

In a release, the firm said it provides an open facility for idea messaging between vendor and proprietary front-end electronic alpha capture and trade idea publishing systems. The company was formed in 2004 by Citigroup, Credit Suisse, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and has operated its central utility service since 2005. Trade Ideas Limited added demand for the electronic distribution of trade ideas is climbing globally, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.
