Building on the success of its March pricing program, takers of ETF liquidity on Chi-X Canada will see their charge reduced to $.0020 per share while ETF liquidity providers will receive a rebate of $.0025 per share. The new rates, which will run from Sept. 14, 2009 though Oct. 16, 2009, will apply to all Canadian ETFs available for trading on Chi-X Canada. All prices are denoted in Canadian dollars and all fee changes are subject o regulatory approval, according to the company's release.
"Our March pricing promotion was a huge success both for the Canadian trading community and Chi-X Canada, and we're excited to build on that by passing along the benefits of trading Canadian exchange traded funds with the 'ETF X Factor,'" stated Beth Haines, manager of client relations for Chi-X Canada.
In addition, Chi-X Canada announced a new general pricing schedule, effective Sept. 1, 2009. For stocks over $1.00, liquidity makers will receive rebates of $.0025, and for stocks under $1.00 they will receive a rebate of $.0005. Aggressive takers of liquidity for stocks over $1.00 will pay $.0029 per share and for stocks under $1.00, they will pay $.0008 per share for stocks under $1.00.
