Citi Makes Equities Trading Appointments

In a memo to the Global Equities group at Citi, Peter Santoro, Global Head of Equity Trading, announced that Bret Engelkemier has been appointed Global Head of Systematic Trading effective September 10th.
Engelkemier will lead trading and technology for the Delta One Market Making and Internalization, Listed Options Market Making, Statistical Arbitrage, and Principal Programs businesses at Citi.
He will also be charged with global development of market center relationships and investments. In addition, Engelkemier will continue his role developing proprietary equity investment activities in the Americas.
Citi also announced that Kevin Russell would take over as Head of Equities Trading for the Americas effective September 10th, taking over Engelkemier’s pervious position. Russell will be responsible for managing the Citi trading business in the Americas as well as the firm’s credit risk and credit related trading strategies in the Global Equities group.
