Savvis Exchange Express Launched

Savvis has released its Savvis Exchange Express solution for users to connect directly to exchanges for market data feeds and trade execution. The low latency connectivity offering provides Ethernet access to market data feeds.

Initially, Savvis Exchange Express will include direct feeds from the American Stock Exchange and the Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure (SFTI). “Ethernet provides lower latency and higher capacity for users, which is particularly important as market data rates continue to grow,” says Varghese Thomas, vice president of financial services at Savvis.

He says that Savvis currently has five exchanges hosted in Savvis data centers and plans to offer additional data feeds in the future. “This is the first of several Exchange Express offerings,” says Thomas.

The Amex’s new Depth of Book (ADOB) data feed will be offered via Savvis Exchange Express. The feed includes all visible equity and ETF limit orders resident on the Amex system central limit order book.

“Usually when a customer orders their data feed today, they may be going through a network service provider, which requires several components for use—routers and switches—which adds latency,” says Thomas. “We are delivering the data directly from the exchange source to the client source, which we’ve benchmarked to be the lowest latency to a customer site.”
